S.L. Dickey lives in Columbus, MS where he teaches printmaking and photography courses while serving as Department Chair at Mississippi University for Women       (a co-ed institution).

He received a B.S. in Biology and a B.F.A. in Printmaking from Mississippi University for Women in 1990 and an M.F.A. in Printmaking from Texas Tech University in 1993.

He has exhibited work in over 119 national juried exhibitions and has had 3 solo shows. His prints can be found in 12 regional/national collections and he has won 13 awards and purchase prizes.

He maintains memberships in The Boston Printmakers, Southern Graphics Printmaking Society, Mid-American Printmaking Council, and the Los Angeles Printmakers Society.
